Fundraising to Raise Up Nurse Leaders
SEE THE ONL FOUNDATION WEBSITE
In honor of Florence Nightingale’s 200th birthday, WHO declared 2020 the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. Now, in the midst of a global pandemic, that declaration feels especially relevant. Over and over this year, we’ve seen the critical role nurses play on the frontlines of fighting COVID, from disease prevention and health promotion to caring for people in all settings. More than ever, they need our support, and that’s where the Organization of Nurse Leaders comes in.
Earlier this year, we partnered with ONL to develop a new website for the ONL Foundation. As part of their communication plan, we recommended building this targeted microsite to highlight the story and the value that the foundation brings. This is a place to highlight the ways they invest in nurses and train up nurse leaders, and also bring in new donors and partnerships.
For us, this was more than another web design project. We see the value ONL is creating in our COVID-hit world. Supporting ONL is one way we can support our community and partner with them as they help frontline workers reach their full potential.
A website is the cornerstone of any organization’s digital presence, especially during the pandemic where people interact with you digitally. It is the only place where you have full control over your story and brand.
Who are the Organization of Nurse Leaders
Most people see doctors as the leaders in the medical world, but ONL recognizes the vital role of nurse leaders for care quality, safety, and patient health outcomes. Research shows the New England nursing workforce needs an influx of leaders to maintain excellent care, but leadership skills aren’t something they learn in nursing school.
ONL supports this need by providing training and learning opportunities to raise up new leaders. With over 1,000 members who oversee 300,000 licensed nurses in New England, they are on track to continue building partnerships and raising support through the ONL Foundation.
